MISSOURI -- Authorities said a police officer was treated at a local hospital after he was attacked by a dog Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the officer responded to a call in 4700 block of Ashland in north St. Louis around 12:30 p.m. when a pit bull bit him on the arm and hand. Authorities said the officer shot the dog twice, but the animal ran from the scene and was later caught by Animal Control.
The officer was taken to a local hospital but was later released. Police said the dog was only grazed by the officer’s bullets.
