Couple donates puppy after deadly dog attack

COLORADO -- 9NEWS first told you about Eileen Trujillo's traumatizing experience outside a gas station in Englewood on Friday. Trujillo's beloved Dachshund, Sebastian, was killed by what police say was a pit bull mix that had escaped from it's home.

She says the attack happened while someone was on the phone with animal control.

Gone, but never forgotten. RIP Sebastian

A couple from Fort Morgan heard about the story and donated a 13-week-old Dachshund puppy to Trujillo Sunday. Trujillo says she is more than thrilled to have a new puppy that she has named, Savannah.

Trujillo says she will continue to fight for justice for Sebastian. Community members are holding a rally Tuesday outside the 7-Eleven on 3131 South Broadway to raise awareness about the City of Englewood's Animal Control policies.
