OKLAHOMA -- Tulsa officers received a call Wednesday night about strong smells coming from a home near 95th and Mingo.
Police say when they arrived at the house of Kevin McDonald, they thought somebody had died. A strong odor was coming from the home.
Once inside, officers didn't find a dead body.
Instead, they found two dogs locked in cages. Neither dog had food, and they were both standing in piles of their own feces.
Police say one of the dogs was so thin, you could see his ribs. The other dog was also in horrible condition.
Officers spoke with neighbors who told them McDonald hadn't been seen in over a week.
Eventually, the suspect made his way home. During questioning, McDonald confessed to neglecting the dogs.
He was arrested and taken to the Tulsa County Jail. He faces a count of animal cruelty. No word on what happened to the dogs.
