UNITED KINGDOM -- A woman was airlifted to hospital and two others were badly hurt after being attacked by two dogs.
Two men are being questioned by police following the incident, which is believed to have involved a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and a Bull mastiff.
West Mercia Police were called to Bridge Street in Leominster at shortly after 6.30pm yesterday where it is believed the two dogs had attacked and injured a woman.
Members of the public attempted to assist and police managed to restrain one of the dogs.
A woman was airlifted to hospital following the incident. She is said to have suffered serious injuries but is in a stable condition.
Another two women are believed to have been injured and received medical attention.
The restrained dog, believed to be the Bull mastiff, died at the scene. The other dog was seized by police and taken away.
Police said they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed three women had been taken to hospital following the incident.
A spokesman said: "Crews responded to a serious incident involving two dogs in Leominster.
"A woman in her 30s was treated for significant multiple wounds. She was given pain relief by medics before being airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
"The hospital was alerted to the serious condition of the patient.
"Two other women at the scene also received dog bites. They were treated for minor injuries and taken to Hereford Hospital."
