NORTH CAROLINA -- A Wilmington man remained in custody Friday, charged with molesting a female dog, according to police.
Jose Vasquez, 46, of 5011 Peachtree Lane, is being held on $250,000 bail on a charge of crimes against nature.

A witness reported at 3:32 a.m. July 5 that he was walking in a parking lot of a Market Street hotel when Vasquez asked him about a dog that was in the parking lot.
When the witness told Vasquez the dog wasn't his, Vasquez allegedly took the dog with him to his car, said Wilmington Police Department spokeswoman Linda Rawley.
A short time later, the dog's owner asked the witness if he'd seen the dog and the witness directed the dog owner to the car he'd seen Vasquez get into, she said.
"When they approached the car, they saw the suspect committing the crime," Rawley said.
The men knocked on the window and Vasquez reportedly jumped out and ran, Rawley said. Vasquez was arrested at 6:05 a.m. on Kerr Avenue, police records show.
