The internet comes through by identifying this POS who threw a puppy into the trash

WISCONSIN -- The Oshkosh Police Department has made contact with the male subject in photos who left a puppy behind a dumpster at the Planeview Truck Stop located at 1500 Planeview Drive on Thursday, July 10, 2014.

The puppy was located behind a dumpster by an employee at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Planeview Truck Stop. A security camera picked up the man holding a black trash bag. When he walked away, his hands were empty.

The puppy was found an hour later by another man who heard cries coming from one of the dumpsters. He found the puppy in a trash bag. Just minutes later, garbage trucks stopped for their morning pickup.

The puppy was in a black plastic gift bag.

The puppy is now in the care of the Oshkosh Area Humane Society where she was immediately taken to the Lakeside Animal Hospital. Named Hazel, x-rays reveal a spinal injury and possible congenital deformities, but the puppy is too young to make a definitive diagnosis.

The Oshkosh Police Department received information over the internet which lead Oshkosh Police to contact a trucking company out of Missouri.

The Oshkosh Police Department spoke to the male, who is from Missouri, who admitted he left the puppy [trapped inside the bag] behind the dumpster.

The Oshkosh Police Department continues the investigation into the abandonment of the puppy. No charges have been filed against the male, pending further investigation.

The puppy continues to receive care from a local veterinarian.

The truck that was in the earlier photographs was mistakenly identified as the suspect vehicle.  The maroon truck in the photos had no involvement in the incident and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The Oshkosh Police Department sends “special thanks” to the community and media for relaying the information and sending information to the police department.
