Texans say no jail time for man who shot his neighbor's dog

TEXAS -- A Midland man will face no jail time for shooting his neighbor's dog.

Stanley Atnipp was accused of shooting his neighbor's dog and threatening the neighbors in 2012.

He stood trial over the last several days.

According to Midland County District Attorney Teresa Clingman, Atnipp was found guilty of cruelty to animals, a third-degree felony. He was found not guilty of aggravated assault.

Clingman says he was sentenced to two years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice but, the jury suggested probation and the judge suspended the sentence.
