TEXAS -- The Stinnett Police Department ordered an autopsy for Luna, their only K-9.

Luna was left outside in a kennel with food and water in July for several hours. When her K-9 officer came back from a trip, Luna was dead.

Stinnett Chief of Police Andrew Trahan says there have been many rumors circling the death of Luna and if the officer will face animal cruelty charges.

According to District Attorney, Mark Snider this was an accident and the K-9 officer will not be faces any criminal charges.

The City paid over $10,000 for Luna and the Stinnett Police Department don't plan on replacing her.
