Deputy rescues kitten from busy Sarasota road

FLORIDA -- A sheriff's deputy is getting recognition for saving a kitten seen dodging traffic in Sarasota Wednesday.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Deputy Pufnock rescued this kitten after she spotted it dodging traffic near Webber Street and Beneva Road.


The kitten is doing well and spent the night at Sarasota County Animal Services, and will be put up for adoption soon.

The kitten had been named "Michelle" after the deputy that saved her.
