FLORIDA -- Authorities cited an Atlantic Beach woman four times after two pit bulls under her care escaped and attacked a visiting Titusville woman and her dog, leading the visitor’s husband to kill one of the dogs with a butcher knife.
Suzanne Leviseur, 56, of the 300 block of Magnolia Street is charged under the city’s animal control ordinance with two counts of allowing the dogs to run at large and two counts of injuries caused by animals, said Police Chief Michael Classey.

Leviseur and her daughter, Cecelia Babillis, paid fines last year after a series of civil citations were written for three other dogs in their custody.
Those dogs, which attacked people and pets, were eventually euthanized, the chief said.
The most recent civil citiations carry $255 fines for the running at large allegations, since it was the third time Leviseur has been cited for such an offense, and $505 for the dog bite violations. She can fight the citations in court.
Police said the investigation into Friday's attack remains open and other charges could be filed.
Friday's incident on Seminole Road occurred when Mallerie Kemp, 27, and her 70-pound Treeing Walker Coonhound, Tanner, were returning home about 9 p.m. from an after-dinner walk at Jack Russell Park. Kemp and her husband, Jared, were visiting his parents while grieving over the recent loss of another family dog, who died of medical complications.
Pit bulls Roscoe, 6, and Minnie, 5, attacked Kemp and Tanner.

Kemp was able to drag the three dogs into her in-law's garage, where her husband eventually killed Roscoe with a butcher knife after wrestling him to the floor and getting bitten on the forearm. Tanner, 3, and Jared Kemp, 28, are recovering from their wounds in the attack.
Leviseur later called police to report her two pit bulls missing.
Authorities took Minnie into custody Tuesday at Leviseur's home. The dog is being kept at the city's Animal Control center while further action is considered.
Leviseur said she owned Minnie and that her daughter brought Roscoe to her home for the weekend.
