Michigan: Lawsuit filed after girl, 9, bitten in face by dog while at friend's home

MICHIGAN -- Our Macomb County dog bite lawyers recently filed a lawsuit on behalf of a child injured in  New Baltimore, Michigan dog attack.

The nine year old girl was playing with a friend at the friend’s home when she was bitten on the face by the family dog.  She suffered a serious laceration and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The girl suffered a bite on upper lip as well as teeth marks on the corner of her  lip. There were also scratch marks on her  left cheek.  She was treated at McLaren Macomb Hospital and had stitches put in to close the wound.  She was also prescribed antibiotics to prevent an infection.  The stitches were later removed by her family doctor.  She has been left with a noticeable scar on her face.

The lawsuit seeks compensation for the injuries caused by the dog bite.  These include compensation for pain and suffering, fright and shock, and the permanent scar left by the bite.

The case also seeks payment of the medical expenses incurred from the bite as well as for the future cost of plastic surgery to revise the scar when the girl reaches her teenage years.  No trial date has been set by the court.
