TENNESSEE -- A Clarksville man was charged with animal cruelty Friday after a Montgomery County Animal Control officer found an extremely emaciated dog on his deck in freezing weather.
According to an arrest warrant issued Friday, a Montgomery County Animal Control officer went to his home on South Jordan Drive on Nov. 13 for an animal welfare call to check for food, water and shelter.
She found a Boxer on the back deck that was so thin, it was ranked a Category "5" on Tufts Animal Care and Condition chart. A "5" is the worst possible ranking.
“The dog had no body fat and was hunched over, shivering,” according to the arrest warrant. The temperature outside was 25 degrees and dropping.
The officer seized the Boxer to provide humane treatment. A warrant was sworn out for the owner Dec. 5.
Dustin Sneyd, 33, who gave a 1637 S. Jordan Drive address, was charged with cruelty to animals and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on $5,000 bond.
