MICHIGAN -- A Detroit man has been charged with four felony counts after he allegedly had his dog attack a police officer.
Carrel Campbell, 36, has been charged with one count each of dangerous animal causing serious injury, felonious assault, resisting and obstructing causing injury and resisting and obstructing.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at 4:40 p.m. Sunday when police were investigating Campbell at home in the 12600 block of Meyers.
Campbell allegedly left the house with a 100-pound bulldog and attempted to flee after he unleashed the animal upon a male police officer.
The dog bit the officer causing an injury. Campbell was arrested by the police later that day.
The dog was euthanized on Tuesday.
He is expected to be arraigned in 36th District Court at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
