VIRGINIA -- A Chesterfield man faces a long list of charges after police say they seized 14 dogs, several in need of immediate medical care.
Police responded to the 19900 block of River Road on January 11 for a report of multiple hunting dogs with inadequate food and shelter. They say six of the hounds needed to go to an animal hospital. The other eight were taken to the shelter.
Police arrested Anthony Paschall and charged him with six counts of cruelty to animals, six counts of ill-treatment of numerous animals, no current county dog license and no rabies inoculation.
Police say the dogs are expected to survive.
