CONNECTICUT -- Westport Fire, Police, and Animal Control worked together to free a deer stuck in a fence on Friday.
It happened on Beachside Avenue around 8:45 a.m.
The Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to free the deer.
Police briefly shut down the road on advice of the Animal Control Officer who knew she would likely run across the road once freed, which she did.
The Westport Fire Department advises to never attempt to rescue any animal that is trapped, always contact Westport Animal Control. No matter how docile an animal may appear, they will become dangerous if they feel threatened when trapped.
