MASSACHUSETTS -- Police, fire and animal control officials in Marblehead, Massachusetts, had a unique rescue mission in store Saturday when escaped alpacas got stuck in ice.
Officials responded to the Marblehead Bird Neck Sanctuary at 2:42 p.m. after three alpacas fell on the ice.
The owners held their heads as officials slid blankets under them.
The rescue took about 45 minutes and no alpacas were injured.
All of the alpacas are now safe in their barns.
