ALABAMA -- A Randolph County deputy was put in the unsettling situation of having to shoot an aggressive dog on Tuesday of last week during the rain and hailstorm.
According to the report from RCSO, the deputy was traveling on County Road 79 when he ran up on the top of an igloo doghouse in the middle of the road near County Road 16. He swerved to miss it, and then stopped to get it out of the road so no one else would hit it.
While he was getting it out of the road, a pit bull charged at him. The deputy said he kept backing away, but the dog kept lunging at him, trying to bite at his legs. That's when he shot the dog with his service weapon.
A reserve deputy also witnessed the incident.
