Cops looking to file charges on man who posted video of himself Tasering a mouse to death

MICHIGAN -- Cops are looking to file charges against an Oak Park, Michigan, man who posted a video of himself Tasering a mouse to death online.

In the horrifying footage, the man, identified as David, uses a Taser to torture a mouse to death in a box in a mall parking lot.

'You guys see this,' he says on the video before killing the mouse.

'Now the mouse is no more.'

David makes jokes throughout the video, and before inflicting pain on the innocent mouse he talks about the importance of wearing safety gear.

‘Safety first,’ says David before putting on his aviator sunglasses which he refers to as 'safety goggles.'

Fox reports that the video was posted on YouTube this week but it was later removed for violating the terms of service.

It was later posted by LiveLeak three days ago and since then it's been viewed about 76,000 times.

When the Oakland County Sheriff saw the video he was horrified.

'It's disgusting,' he said.

'It was in a Petco box so he went and bought this mouse.'

David is a former employee of the Glory Grocery Market and can be seen wearing his store uniform shirt in the video.

After the store caught wind of the video managers fired him, reports Fox.

Oak Park investigators say they caught wind of the horrible viral footage after they received complaints from animal rights activists all over the world.

‘Apparently it went viral on YouTube,’ Cooper said.

‘We were able to do some investigating and find out who the young man was. We've already interviewed him and the case has been forwarded to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.’

Even though people set up mouse traps in their house and feed mice to snakes, when animal cruelty is involved the action of killing a mouse may be against the law.

Civilians are also not permitted to use stun guns in Michigan.

'You are looking a probably animal cruelty and possession of a stun gun device,' Cooper said.

'We confiscated the stun gun.'
