NEW JERSEY -- An animal rescue group is taking care of 40 dogs found in an abandoned New Jersey area home.
Officials from the rescue group Husky House say the home was covered in feces and urine and that some dogs were found living in the walls.
All 40 dogs were groomed and received medical attention once they arrived at the Husky House. Some dogs had heavily matted fur when rescued.
Majority of the dogs found were golden retrievers and border collie mixes.
Husky house is currently accepting donations and are seeking cleaning supplies, blankets, gift cards, and other items.
All donations for the rescue group can be sent to 391 Route 34, Matawan, NJ 07747.
The owners of the home have not been found.
