PENNSYLVANIA -- A McAdoo woman was found not guilty of three citations filed against her Dec. 8 by borough police, who responded to her home for barking dogs, according to court papers.
Laura Kapes, 42, was found not guilty of two counts of animal cruelty and one count of disorderly conduct for unreasonable noise after police stopped at her Hancock Street home.
She was found guilty of another disorderly conduct citation related to unreasonable noise for the same incident during a summary trial before Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer, Tamaqua.
Bayer ordered her to pay $265, according to a court docket.
It would have been helpful if the author of this article described what animal cruelty was allegedly committed? Did police respond to barking and find the dogs skinny? Without shelter, water? Locked in feces and urine-filled crates?
