AUSTRALIA -- A police dog handler and his K9 dog were injured on Friday night when they were attacked by two bull mastiffs.
The dog squad had been searching for two offenders along Woolwich Street in West Leederville when the two large bull mastiffs broke through their garden fence and began attacking the officer and the dog.
The owner of the dogs tried to pull them away and was bitten on the hand.
Police K9 dog Freddy received a bite to his front leg. He was treated by a vet and cleared for further duty.
His handler received a minor bite to his thigh.
The dog owner was treated by paramedics at the scene.
