SPCA seize over 30 dogs, some dead, from deplorable conditions

NEW YORK -- Officers with the Erie County SPCA say they’re seizing 27 live dogs and four deceased dogs from a Town of Tonawanda home with deplorable conditions.

The SPCA says they’re working to sift through the location and the number of rescued animals could grow. The seized dogs are larger breed.

While sorting through the house, officers say they also found three dead cats in a bedroom. SPCA officials say they were called after a large dog was left in a crate outside for the entire day Wednesday.

The home, on Delaware Road, is unfit for living, the SPCA says. The home is filled with rodent, animal and suspected human feces.

The owner has reportedly not surrendered the animals ownership to the SPCA.
