Coatesville man cited in dog attack

PENNSYLVANIA -- A 33-year-old man was cited for several dog law violations after his dog allegedly escaped from its home and attacked a neighbor’s dog.

Police said James Carpenter, of the 100 block of Mayfield Drive, was cited for failure to confine a dog as well as failure to have the animal licensed or vaccinated. The Chester County SPCA is also assisting with the investigation.

The alleged attack occurred on June 6 around 10 a.m.

The victim, an unidentified Coatesville resident, called police to notify them of the reported attack.

The attacking dog is an 8-year-old pit bull, police said.
