Carmen Sanchez-Hyman charged with four counts of animal cruelty

FLORIDA -- Last December an officer from Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control along with Delray Beach police used a search warrant at a home in the 900 block of NE 7th Avenue.

Investigators say that they found that the house was severely cluttered and there was a slight smell of cat urine.

The Animal care and Control officer says that sixteen cats and three dogs were removed from the house because they were malnourished.

During another inspection of the house investigators say that they found two other dogs at the home that were malnourished, dehydrated and covered with parasites.

Officers arrested Carmen Sanchez-Hyman on Thursday and charged her with four counts of animal cruelty and one county of confinement of animals without sufficient food, water or exercise.

Animal Care and Control officers say that when the five dogs were given food and care their overall health and body conditions improved.

Sanchez-Hyman was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.

  1. She had herself declared mentally unfit to stand trial for 3 years, now she apparently is fit to stand trial, and will receive no punishment. Poor tortured animals, evil person.
