78 Animals Rescued from Deplorable Conditions in Wright City

MISSOURI -- Another case of animal abuse – this time in Wright City. And once again, it’s not the first time for these owners. They had been given recommendations on proper care in the past.

In all, 78 animals were rescued by the Humane Society of Missouri Animal Cruelty Task Force.

Besides dogs and cats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, goats, a pot-bellied pig and one Cockatoo were removed after the Warren County Sheriff notified the Humane Society of the deplorable conditions.

The animals are being treated, and the farm-type animals have gone to Longmeadow Ranch.

Discussion with the sheriff’s office and Humane Society of Missouri investigators led the owners to agree to surrender the animals to the Humane Society.

Animal cruelty charges will be sought.
