Andrew Henderson, 25, and Haley Allison, 22, arrested on animal cruelty charges

NORTH CAROLINA -- WLOS TV is reporting that a couple was charged after deputies investigated a tip of animal cruelty.
Andrew Henderson, 25, and Haley Allison, 22, were arrested after deputies found abused and malnourished dogs on their property.

It happened on Nov. 6 on Walnut Heights Lane.

Deputies say they found a malnourished dachshund inside the home, a Pit Bull mix running loose and a black lab with deep cuts from his collar -- a collar that had to be surgically removed.

"I think it's a pretty lucky dog," Cpl. Vince Griggs with the Henderson County Sheriff's Office said. "It had been on there for sometime and the cut going on it's a good thing we found it when we did. I wish we would have found it earlier."

All three dogs are recovering and in the Henderson County Animal Shelter. Two of them are ready to be adopted.

Griggs says the third dog the one with the bad collar cuts is almost healthy enough to be adopted.

The couple was released from jail after they posted bond.
