AUSTRALIA -- A MANDURAH resident said Creery Street and surrounding roads were “put into lock down by police” for three hours last Thursday night after a man had his throat ripped open.
They said they are afraid to talk to police as they have been approached by friends of the person holding the dog and told they should not talk contact police.
The resident said the dog in question was “crimson” with blood following the attack.
Police are remaining tight lipped about the attack, but they want to speak to a man who was walking a dog at the time.
The incident happened on Creery Street in Dudley Park at 11.45pm on Thursday, November 5.
Mandurah detectives said a witness reported seeing a man being bitten by a white bulldog on the street.
There was man nearby who appeared to be in control of the dog.
When challenged by the witness the man with the dog left the area.
The dog bite victim was taken to Peel Health Campus where he was treated for several injuries.
Detectives said the injured person had wounds consistent with a dog attack and other wounds caused by something else.
They did not say if the injuries to his throat were caused by the dog or by a weapon.
