IOWA -- An Iowa man has been sentenced for illegally hunting a deer in 2012.
Acting U.S. Attorney Kevin E. VanderSchel says 34-year-old Christopher Ryan King was sentenced Tuesday to two 30-day prison terms in connection to the illegal hunting of a whitetail buck deer and the making of a false statement. The terms will be served at the same time.
Officials say King did not disclose hunting violations on an application to hunt. They say he later shot a whitetail buck deer in October 2012 in an area in Des Moines County that was closed to hunting.
In a plea agreement King admitted to not reporting all the game he harvested.
King was ordered to serve three years of supervised release and to pay $10,000 in restitution.
