ARIZONA -- A 7-year-old girl has been rushed to the hospital after being attacked by a dog.
The dog was a pit bull mix.
Rural Metro crews say it happened Friday evening in the Queen Creek area.
The little girl's dad was upstairs at their home when he heard his daughter screaming downstairs.
The girl was transported to Phoenix Children's Hospital.
Her scalp was reportedly lacerated on the right side, but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The family adopted the dog about six months ago.
