SOUTH AFRICA -- A 90-year-old man is in a critical condition after he was mauled by a dog in Water Edge, Carletonville, on Thursday afternoon, paramedics said.
The elderly man was walking in the area when the dog suddenly attacked him, said ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing.
"He sustained injuries to his head, his neck and left hand," said Bodasing.
Paramedics were called to the scene and found the man lying on the ground with severe injuries.
He was airlifted to hospital.
Bodasing could not immediately say what type of dog it was or what had happened to it following the attack.
