Connecticut: Judge orders re-arrest of Redding woman, Lisa Lind-Larsen, in animal cruelty case

CONNECTICUT -- On January 26, 2016 a a 76-year-old Redding woman accused of neglecting her two horses faced another arrest when she failed to appear in court.

Lisa Lind-Larsen, who has been representing herself in criminal and civil court, was scheduled to appear at 9:30 a.m. in state Superior Court in Danbury for jury selection on that day.

Lind-Larsen was charged in July 2014 with two counts of animal cruelty after authorities were alerted to the emaciated conditions of her two horses.

Authorities said they found the two horses, Cheyenne and Chinook, in poor shape with their ribs, hips and spine plainly showing. Their stalls were eight to nine inches deep in manure, water was scanty and unclean, and food supplies were scarce, according to court records.

The horses were seized and taken to a Department of Agriculture facility in Niantic, where they remain.
