Little boy mauled by his uncle's bull mastiff

AUSTRALIA -- A seven-year-old boy has received a serious facial injury after being mauled by his uncle’s dog in Sydney’s south west.

Paramedics rushed to the home in Leppington after the boy’s frantic family reported the attack.

The seven-year-old was rushed to the Children's Hospital in Westmead.

His injuries are not life threatening but paramedics said he had suffered a significant bite to his face.

It is understood the boy and his parents had been visiting the house, which belongs to the boy’s uncle, when the bull mastiff attacked

Police now have the dog and are expected to work with council rangers to determine the best course of action.
