TENNESSEE -- Montgomery County Animal Care and Control is asking for the public’s help in identifying a dog that was abandoned on Ussery Rd. in deplorable condition.
Animal Control received a call about a white dog with “black spots” injured on Ussery Road. Upon arrival, a good Samaritan had confined the dog on the side of the road and Animal Control immediately transported the dog to Sango Veterinary Hospital for care and treatment.
Ulysses, who was named by Sango Veterinary Hospital, had a high fever and was placed on IV fluids. His eyes will need to be removed due to severe infection, and he has a serious case of demodectic mange. Further evaluation of his condition is scheduled Wednesday.
“This is long term neglect, not something that suddenly occurred overnight,” Animal Control Director Jeanette Farrell said.
Anyone with information can contact Animal Control at 931-648-5750.
A Gofundme account has been set up by several caring and concerned citizens called “Hope for Ulysses”. All funds will go solely to the treatment of Ulysses and not to Animal Control.
