Florida: Melissa Payne, 55, accused of starving six of her horses to death; four emaciated horses seized

FLORIDA -- A woman is in jail in Osceola County accused of neglecting nearly a dozen horses.

Melissa Payne is charged with animal cruelty after six horses were found dead and four others were found malnourished in St. Cloud, Florida.

Deputies say all of the horses belong to Payne. The surviving animals are now in the care of Osceola County Animal Control.
