Canada: 'Ripping at her leg': Eyewitness describes dog attack

CANADA -- A woman in Regina was attacked by a pit bull earlier this afternoon in the city's North Central neighbourhood.

The gruesome incident happened on the 1100 block of Montague Street.

The victim left in an ambulance with what eyewitness Sabrina Agecoutay said was a leg wound. Agecoutay said she saw the attack from across the street.

"I heard screaming, so I looked out my window and I saw that dog jump into the back of the truck here, and it grabbed onto the woman's leg," Agecoutay said. "She started screaming and she fell backwards and the dog fell out with her, and it started just like ripping at her leg.

"She was like really freaked out. She was like screaming. She was crying. She looked like she was in a lot of pain and her leg looked really bad."

There's no word yet on the woman's condition.

One of the dog owners said the injured woman is her sister and now she wants the dog euthanized.
