Arkansas: Police say Kathryn Levans held a white dog down while Michael Throne and Nathaniel Ward took turns shooting the dog in the head.

ARKANSAS -- Three Paragould residents face animal cruelty charges following an investigation.

On June 3, Paragould police responded to a report of animal cruelty at a home on the 900-block of East Lake Street in Paragould.

According to an affidavit, when officers arrived, they found a small white dog with a severe case of mange.

The dog was shot at least three times in the head at close range with a pellet gun and had blood running down both sides of its face, according to the court document.

An investigation revealed Kathryn Levans held the dog down while Michael Cody Throne and Nathaniel Ward took turns shooting the dog in the head.

Levans, Throne, and Ward each had a $5,000 cash-only bond.

Greene County Judge Dan Stidham also issued a no-contact order with any animals for Levans, Throne, and Ward.

The dog, which is now named Sheluv, is healing at the Henry Wrinkles Foundation.

She is doing well and has been running around and playing.

  1. I feel so bad for the dog that had to go through that. Unfortunately Kathryn is my ex girlfriend and I am so happy that she will never be allowed around any animal anymore. I am happy the dog is recovering nicely.
