MINNESOTA -- The city of Cottage Grove has a new canine crime stopper.
Gunnar, a Belgian malinois, has hit the streets as the city’s new K-9 dog, handled by officer Nils Torning.
The pair were introduced during last week’s City Council meeting and were part of Strawberry Fest activities over the weekend.
When Gunnar isn’t sniffing for drugs or chasing down suspects, the K-9 will make appearances at community events and serve as a four-legged liaison between the department and the public.
