What they saw was appalling:
Police discovered roaches all over the floor of the house, walls, animal feces on the air vents on the living room floor on the bottom shelf of the door, rotting food in a refrigerators, dishes that still had food leftovers in the sink collecting mold and roaches and no bedding on the futons the three children slept on, nor any pillows.
A Minco Animal Control Officer transported the three breathing dogs to the Animal Emergency Center in Oklahoma City, where another one of the three dogs died.
Yesterday, Sheila Chestnutt began her prison sentence at the Mabel Correctional Center in McCloud, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Department of Corrections doesn't specify how long she'll be there, but most people in prison on these types of charges only do about 1/3 of the time listed. Plus, the sentences are probably to be served concurrently (at the same time) rather than consecutively (one after the other). If it were just animal cruelty convictions, she likely wouldn't be in prison. However, the element of the children living in a filthy meth house is what got her in serious trouble that demanded prison time.
