TENNESSEE -- A Lebanon man is accused by his neighbors of harming his small dog multiple times, including with a video presented to officers showing the suspect throwing the animal down violently on his porch.
Andrew Lawrence Greer, 49, of the 100 block of Clearview Lane has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty.
Police were called to check on possible animal cruelty and found a small black dog hiding in the bushes at the home that couldn't be coaxed out.
Greer told officers he owned the dog, police said.
Officers initially placed Greer under arrest after finding an active warrant for a probation violation.
A neighbor presented to police the security camera video footage showing Greer throwing the dog.
Another person interviewed also told police they had witnessed Greer harm the dog on other occasions. The dog was considered malnourished, police said.
No serious injuries were found after the dog, named Charlie, was checked by a local veterinarian, police said. The dog was taken into protective custody by Lebanon Animal Control.
He's got so many arrests on his record, I didn't bother to post them. Just giving him the "career criminal" tag.
