Wisconsin: When cats suffered and died in Delores Marti's home, she put them in the freezer

WISCONSIN -- Monroe police say dozens of dead cats were found in the freezer of a home that was raided earlier this week.

Authorities were at the home in the 100 block of 19th Street on Monday, when they seized nearly 50 live cats. On Thursday, police and members of the fire department executed a search warrant at the home. Firefighters had gas masks and oxygen tanks as they went into the residence.

Police chief Fred Kelley says authorities found 35 dead kittens in a freezer, along with six dead adult cats. They also found another dead cat in the garage.

Authorities did find two more live cats, which were taken to the Green County Humane Society.

Chief Kelley says one of the cats found Monday had to be euthanized due to its condition. At this point, counting the cats seized Thursday, 50 live cats and 42 dead cats have been taken from the home.

Kelley says a hearing will be held Friday to decide the status of the cats that were seized. He says the investigation into any potential charges continues.

An earlier article said that Delores Marti owns THREE HOMES and that they've all been condemned over the years for 'air quality'. Hmm, why would someone get their home condemned over air quality? One word: AMMONIA from hoarded cats!

Now the question is: why didn't the city do anything about her abusing and killing cats for years???
