Alabama: Colbert County breeder Debra Jane Catledge, 53, pleads not guilty to animal cruelty charges

ALABAMA -- Debra Jane Catledge, who was arrested after authorities found dozens of dogs on her property, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to multiple animal cruelty charges.

Catledge, 53, is scheduled to go to trial March 4 in Colbert County Circuit Court.

Catledge was arrested in December and charged with 15 counts of second-degree animal cruelty.

Police said they found a total of 122 Yorkshire terriers and Pomeranians at her home on Highway 72 in Barton. The dogs were kept in wire cages out in the freezing weather.
