Kentucky: Ricky Miller, 53, killed by bull on family farm

KENTUCKY -- A 53-year-old Walton man was identified Thursday as the victim gored to death by a bull on a Boone County farm Wednesday.

Ricky Miller's body was found about 1 p.m. in the 13000 block of U.S. 42, said Tom Scheben, spokesman for the Boone County Sheriff's Office.

He was working on his family's farm Wednesday morning when he was apparently attacked by a bull over a hill, sheriff's officials have said.

The bull was presumed to be in the field when Miller's body was found, so first responders took every precaution as they recovered the man's remains.

The animal was located later in the day, Scheben said Thursday.

Sheriff's authorities don't plan to take any action against the animal or its owners for death, Scheben said. They also do not plan to test the bull to confirm it's the one that killed Miller.

"This is a farming accident and what the family does with the bull is up to them," Scheben said.
