New York: Brittany Waldruff, 26, and Derrick Waldruff, 24, abandoned their animals to die say police

NEW YORK -- A couple is facing animal cruelty charges after abandoning their pet Beagle and her four puppies.

Police say Brittany Waldruff, 26, and Derrick Waldruff, 24, left the puppies and the dog without food or water after getting evicted from their upstairs apartment.

  

The dogs, according to police, suffered from extreme dehydration.

Both are facing four counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animal charges.

The couple is due in court on September 14.
