Kentucky: Charles Reynolds, 66, and Susan Reynolds, 43, Arrested for Animal Cruelty

KENTUCKY -- The Kentucky State Police are investigating a complaint of animal cruelty after being notified by the Hopkins Co. Humane Society of possible animal abuse.

According to a press release, today, Trooper Jon McGehee was called to assist the Hopkins Co. Humane Society in checking the welfare of pets on the 100 block of Highland Avenue in Madisonville.

  

After an investigation, Trooper McGehee arrested both residents, Charles Reynolds, 66, and Susan Reynolds, 43, for second degree animal cruelty.

Trooper McGehee said the dogs were being kept in small cages and were living in very unsanitary conditions. He stated the animals had matted hair, bare spots and were covered in feces.

The Hopkins County Humane Society removed a total of 16 dogs and one cat from the residence.

The Reynolds were lodged in the Hopkins Co. Detention Center.
