North Carolina: Animal Control warned owners of pit bulls "several times" before they attacked man, but some people still say dogs shouldn't be euthanized.

NORTH CAROLINA -- Please pray for my Dad for a speedy recovery. He was attacked by a pit. Thankfully it just got his leg.

Judy Edwards OMG, I hope he heals quickly.. Praying..

Christina Owens Bowne Thank you. He had a good many stitches put in. Glad it wasn't any worse.

Judy Edwards Just told Kayla, that they should put that pit down. I mean I would if my dog bit someone.

Anna Elyse Hope he gets better soon. As for the dog, the dog shouldn't have it's life taken away for the owner's neglectfulness in teaching right from wrong and how to behave. Unless they are in pain that can't be treated or has rabies, they shouldn't be euthanized. The dog should be sent to be trained and the owner held responsible for the dog's actions. The dog doesn't know any better than how it was raised and treated, so why end it's life for something it knows nothing about. Some people need to go through a psych evaluation before having an animal.

Christina Owens Bowne Thank you Anna unfortunately its out of our hands. Dhec stepped in and animal control also. When an accident happens and it requires a Dr. Visit or hospital visit. The policy is they have to report it.

Animal control said they have been warned several times about the dogs. They have to quarantine the dog for 10 days to make sure it doesn't have rabies and I'm not sure what's going to happen after that. I hate any of this happen. Its an unfortunate thing for the dog and my dad. I have a pit mixed and I make sure I watch her at all times outside and around people and my other dogs. You never know with the breeds. She is sweet but sometimes she plays a little rough with my other dogs but I couldn't be a 100% that she would never turn. Its sad but really any dog could do that.
