Canada: Jack Russell named Lilly attacked by neighbor's pit bull

CANADA -- Hi everyone just wanted to share what happened to us recently 15 days ago my Lilly got attacked by a pit bull right in front of of our house it all happened very fast the dog (pit bull) belonged to the basement tenants on the day of thanksgiving we found their dog in front of our door no leash no collar so i told them to keep the dog on a leash please,

on the saturday my daughter was about to bring Lilly for a walk I was on the front porch with Lilly on the extendable leash she went down the three steps and was just smelling around when I see my neighbour behind her car in the drive way holding the dog around the neck with her arms trying to bring him back to their side of the house so I shouted do you have your dog on a leash she replied "Noo" with attitude and seemed to be even bothered by me asking just finished saying this in a zap the dog was on my side got out of her control ( no leash no collar of any kind) meantime my daughter heard everything runs outside I don't know if the dog was going for my daughter because she was running down the stairs or what Lilly got in the way

she is our Little big hero my baby, she got chewed by this dog we couldn't get her out of the grip of his mouth the co-owner came running out screams despair terrible Lilly was crying out for help and their was nothing we could do my daughter was desperate to get her out of her mouth the dog grouled because she was trying to save Lilly and thank God the guy punched the dog on the head so hard he loosened up and Lilly escaped she was full of blood terrible even writting about it its a nightmare, emergency right away to save her, stitches in the ear two holes in her ribs a big three inch hole in her back, her neck on the side ripped and missed her vein just by literally a thread ripped her muscle and because she was wearing a colar the first bit didn't open her neck but was very badly bruised medication got stitched up cried for days for the pain even with the pain killer had to go back for more stiches and medication because she was so in shock would you beleive the nerve of these people I told them to start paying the bill the second time after 15 days they said I was harrasing them!! they didn't even come by to see if she was alive!

Lilly is doing much better we have moved also recently and since the move she is doing much better soon she will be taking out her stitches and can't wait to bring her to meet you. Can I post pictures? Thanks everyone I know you understand me the Love we have for her is endless she is part of our family you don't mess with some ones family!

Juanita Anne Please Tell me you filed a report with animal control or whatever the authority is in your area. They should be held responsible for a dog at large and the attack. That dog should be quarantined at the very least . Prayers for you, your daughter and Lilly.

Lauren Thoraval Please make a report....you can save the next dogs' life.....all the best for you and yours.....terrible experience for all.....
