North Carolina: Firefighters rescue sweet-looking cat from burning home

NORTH CAROLINA -- Firefighters rescued a cat from a burning home in Knightdale Wednesday morning.

The house caught fire just after 8 a.m. at the intersection of Hester Street and Park Avenue. According to fire crews on scene, the flames were contained within five minutes.

Firefighters were able to rescue a cat from inside the burning home. The cat was given oxygen and appeared to be in good health.

 

Officials said no one was at home when the house went up in flames and no one was injured. They’re trying to get in contact with the homeowner.

It’s not clear where the fire started inside the house or how. The fire is currently under investigation.

Damage to the home was estimated at somewhere in the range of $40,000 to $50,000.
