CANADA -- A 57 year-old Deseronto woman has been handed a lifetime animal ownership ban, following an animal cruelty investigation.
The OSPCA was contacted earlier this month, about a woman who was looking to surrender five cats and two dogs, which were in poor health.
When OSPCA investigators went to the home, they found the dogs housed in a dirty garage, with no food or water and found four of the cats in a shed, also with no food or water and the fifth dead in a cage.
Loria Brant pleaded guilty to failing to provide the necessary care to an animal and was sentenced Tuesday.
Brant is being allowed to keep one other dog she already had in her care, while the animals that were rescued have been rehabilitated and re-homed.
