New York: Brad Bush, 34, and Tina Bush, 52, turned their dog into a skeleton say police

NEW YORK -- Two people have been charged for animal cruelty to a canine in the Town of Cuyler, according to the Cortland Community SPCA.

Investigators say they arrested 34-year-old Brad M. Bush, of West Keeney Road, and 52-year-old Tina I. Bush, of East Keeney Road, on one count of animal cruelty to a canine each.

The charges come after a joint investigation by the SPCA and the Country Acres Pet Services and the Dog Control Officer for the Town of Cuyler.

The investigation began when Country Acres Pet Services received a tip about an emaciated dog that had come into their shelter in November.

Several other dogs were seized for being unlicensed from Brad Bush's property under court order, and investigators say more charges may come if those dogs are found to be in a similar condition to the dog that prompted the original charges.

Both suspects were arraigned and released on their own recognizance. They're due back in court on January 11, 2017.

Looks like Tina got one of her dogs back:
