Maine: Police say Thomas Wentworth raped a Black Lab named Missy, then killed her by putting a plastic bag over her head and slowly suffocated her to death

MAINE -- Thomas Wentworth, 55, is accused of having sex with his dog and then killing it. Court documents say he killed the dog by "putting a plastic bag over its head and spraying ether into it, slowly suffocating it."

That's not all, though - Wentworth is also facing charges for violating probation, domestic violence assault, and domestic violence terrorizing. The domestic violence charges had already been filed, and Wentworth was charged with probation violation when he was accused of intercourse with RAPING the dog.

Court documents say his former partner and victim of alleged domestic violence "reportedly witnessed Wentworth having sexual intercourse with RAPING his dog and that he killed his dog and was threatening to harm her and her parents."

Court documents say the dog was a female black lab named "Missy."

Wentworth denies having sex with the dog, and has told officials that he believes Missy had intercourse with the neighbor's dog. This is all according to an interview synopsis in the court documents.

He was arrested February 16. He is being held without bail in the Androscoggin County Jail.

His first court appearance will be Thursday, April 27, at 8:30 AM in Auburn Superior Court.

Wentworth could be subject to a minimum $1,000 fine, up to five years in prison, and psychological counseling, according to Maine law.

UPDATE:
At the 8:30 hearing in Auburn Superior Court on April 27th, Wentworth's case was continued because he is in the process of getting a new lawyer. He will be back on the next Superior Court list on June 1.
